I played the game before really watching the anime.

When I opened up my gym badge case for the first time, I immediately had impressions of the gym leaders..

Natane/Gardenia had a greenhouse where she grew marijuana and looked like she secretly shared them with roark.

I imagined she would sometimes visit Oreburgh just to vine whip Roark's ass.

Roark looked like a 20 yr old happy go lucky, calm kind of guy with sweet eyes of kindness.

But then my eyes immediately caught the other gym leader with a firey hue of red hair, although more subdued...

..Byron of Canalave.

And I thought... omg..

Roark was the cheery opposite of Byron's super srs mean face. Byron looked like he wasnt the type to talk much and the way his eyes are askewwww to the sideee...

That was the moment i instantly shipped them romantically.

I had no idea whatsoever that they were father and son.

I shit bricks, rocks, and fossils when i found out VIA the game that they were related.

And holy shit, i still ship them non platonically/ROMANTICALLY.



Fantina looked like a weird foreign chick/aka a rich bitch sporting class and elegance,

Gardenia looks like she'd join in, and Fantina looks like she'd join in just for feminine lulz.

Yup, was cousin's birthday yesterday. Went out with two of my uncles, 2 of my cousins and my grandma.

Roark gets paired with his daddy bc i played the game before knowing anythinggg.

Actually, one of the reasons I also Paired Jun with his dad was bc i didnt even really KNOW Palmer was his dad.

honestly, even after i read somewhere that Palmer was barry's dad, i still wasn't really sure or convinced..so whenever i went to battle tower, i laughed to myself bc i thought it was some kind of epic trap on palmer's part to lure Jun up into his room/torture arena or something.

Doesnt help that he says it's his dream to have him face him in battle one day. Also, running around to find each other was cute. Yah...like the blonde hair wasn't enough evidence for familial relationship. Not mahh fault.
